Disclosure: AEOCheck sells a competing product. We write these pages under a published method, we say what the other tool does better than us, and every claim about them is read from their own material and dated.
The honest difference
Localo is a Google Business Profile tool, and it is priced like one: $49 a month for a single business, $39 on an annual plan, with a 14-day trial that does not ask for a card. Its pricing page describes profile optimisation, rank tracking, an AI Agent that answers questions about your business and market, and a Brand voice feature that builds a communication profile from your online presence. It also lists an MCP product for working with GBP data inside ChatGPT or Claude. Those are useful things if your Google profile is where you compete.
What the pricing page does not describe — as of 4 September 2026 — is any measurement of what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google's AI features say about your business when a customer asks for a recommendation. Using AI to manage your profile is not the same as measuring your visibility in AI answers, and it is easy to read "AI Agent" on a pricing page and assume the second when the product offers the first. We mark AI visibility measurement unknown for Localo rather than absent, because their page is silent rather than explicit.
AEOCheck does the second thing. You pay once, we run the real buyer searches for your trade and your town across ChatGPT/OpenAI, Perplexity, Google Gemini and Google organic, and the report says whether you were named, who was named instead, and the five fixes that matter most — including whether your website is blocking the crawler ChatGPT search uses, which a GBP tool has no reason to check.
The relationship between the two is straightforward. Your Google Business Profile is one of the sources AI engines read when deciding who to recommend, so a well-run profile helps AI visibility. But it is one source among several — your website, the directories, review sites — and AI engines do not reconcile discrepancies between them. Localo works on one of those sources. AEOCheck tells you how the whole picture reads to the engines today.
If your Google profile needs ongoing attention and you want a tool built for that, Localo's trial is a low-risk way to find out whether it earns its $39 to $49 a month. If you want to know whether AI recommends you for real buyer searches in your city, and what to fix, that is the $25 report.

What the numbers say
Across the 212 businesses AEOCheck has scanned so far, 192 — 91% — failed their AI visibility check. Most had the same three problems: AI crawlers blocked, no structured data, and no content for engines to cite. None of those are fixed by automating a Google Business Profile.
That number is read live from our own scan corpus when this page loads, counting the most recent scan per business — not a figure typed in once and left.
Choose Localo if
Localo is the better purchase when:
- Your Google Business Profile is where you win or lose customers, and you want a tool built specifically to manage and grow it
- You want local rank tracking on an ongoing basis at a modest monthly price
- You want to work with your GBP data inside ChatGPT or Claude through their MCP product
- You want to try before you decide — 14 days, no card
At $39 a month on the annual plan for a single business, it is a reasonably priced way to keep a Google profile actively managed.
Choose AEOCheck if
The $25 report is the better purchase when:
- You want to know what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini actually say when someone in your city asks who to hire
- You want the names of the competitors being recommended instead of you
- You want your website checked for the crawler blocks and missing schema that keep AI from naming you — things a GBP tool does not look at
- You want a one-time diagnosis and a fix list rather than a subscription
- You want a fixed price and a defined deliverable, with a scoped engagement available if you want the work done
The question to ask first
Before choosing either, ask one question: when someone in your city asks ChatGPT or Perplexity who to hire for what you do, does your business get named? A well-run Google profile helps — but it is one source among several, and the only way to know how the whole picture reads is to run the searches.

FAQ
Does Localo measure AI visibility?
Their pricing page, read on 2026-09-04, describes an AI Agent for business and market insights, a Brand voice feature, and an MCP product for using Google Business Profile data inside ChatGPT or Claude. It does not describe measuring whether ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini recommend your business. We mark that unknown rather than absent — ask them directly if it matters to your decision.
How much does Localo cost?
From their pricing page on 2026-09-04: Single Business at $49 per month, or $39 per month billed annually (plus VAT); Pro at $169 per month, or $149 per month billed annually; Enterprise on custom pricing. Both standard plans offer a 14-day free trial with no card required.
Is a Google Business Profile tool enough for AI visibility?
It helps, because your Google profile is one of the sources AI engines read. It is not enough on its own: engines also read your website, directories and review sites, and they do not reconcile discrepancies between them. A site that blocks AI crawlers or declares the wrong business type in its schema will underperform however well the profile is run. The AEOCheck report checks the whole picture.
Localo vs AEOCheck: which should I buy?
Buy Localo if you want an ongoing tool to manage and grow your Google Business Profile. Buy the AEOCheck report if you want to know, once, whether AI engines recommend you for the buyer searches in your city, who they recommend instead, and what to fix. They answer different questions and many businesses would sensibly use both.
Can I use both AEOCheck and Localo?
Yes. The AEOCheck report finds the website-side problems — crawler access, schema, quotable content — and names the competitors AI prefers; Localo keeps your Google profile actively managed. There is no conflict between them.
Is the AEOCheck check free?
The headline check is free: we run the same buyer searches and email you the single most important finding, no card. The full report is $25 and delivers to your inbox, usually within the hour.
